Anthea SweetWatch Interview - Julia Davis interviews Anthea Sweet about Anatomy Applied: Strength

Anatomy Applied: Strength

A 5-hour CPD day for yoga teachers keen to extend their knowledge of anatomy and apply it on the mat.
With a combination of anatomy and breathing theory, practice of asanas/sequences and group work we will explore anatomical principles through our own experience and plan your strategies for implementing what you learn:
  • How to apply centre of gravity, weight distribution, breath mechanics and lines of force to develop your students’ structural strength and stability alongside stretch work
  • Teaching tips to encourage your students to build awareness of their own body mechanics and the difference between challenge and overworking
  • Developing lesson plans with anatomical focus within a yogic framework
  • Communication, cueing and adjustments to activate good grounding, core stability and use of the breath
